Making My House a Home

So, this weekend I had a bridal shower, thrown by my wonderful sister, Kristin--and practically doubled my collection of kitchen and household items for our new little place! Andrew's mom and grandma came into town, some of his aunts and cousins came, lots of my cousins and friends came, and it was great to see everyone. It was weird to have it be all about me...but that makes me happy because it means the wedding really is close!! I am so excited--38 days--and yes, I am counting down now :) Anyway, here are a few great items I got at the shower:

Lovely maple rolling pin. Andrew will use this to make his amazing rolls!
My creamy yellow mixing bowls from my mom. Love them!

All-Clad Measuring cups and spoons. These things mean business.

Our dinner ware! It's so beautiful and chic. Also love it. From Andrew's grandma!

Amazing flatware from Andrew's other grandma

Other favorite gifts included a cute nightgown--not lingerie!--from Kate and Summer, a toy ant from my soon-to-be neices and nephews, cute bathroom towels, a mini croc-pot, some pie pans, and more. So thanks again to everyone that came!

Our Little House

Andrew has blogged some pictures of the inside of our house. He did a much better job than I can, so you can check them out at his site here!

Fun Weekend

This weekend was a nice and much needed break from the already enormous stress that is school! I went to lunch Friday with my old roommate Camille, and ran into her at the football game!Andrew and I watched the Cougars rip apart UCLA. The game day was beautiful and it was fun to see the place all crowded and hyped up. I need to buy a BYU shirt for the next game! I'm such a bad fan.

Then, Saturday night we went to a concert behind the new Spoon Me frozen yogurt shop here in Provo. A band that I liked in high school, Rooney, played an awesome show. It was weird to be in such a large group of single people again...it's been a while since that has happened! And I'm happy to say I'm very excited to be getting married :) Hope you all had a good weekend, too!

I like this boy

Okay, so our engagement pictures came out sooner than I was expecting and you can check 'em out on Matt Clayton's blog. They are adorable--and we've got about 100 to choose from!--and I am so excited that the wedding plans are finally moving along! Only 50 days. Not that I'm counting :)

Extra, Extra!

Just a couple of exciting news tidbits from my life:

#1: Andrew and I got our engagement pictures taken this past weekend. It was so fun and I think they're going to turn out great! Matt Clayton was our photographer--he is amazing, and you can check out his stuff here. I'll post once the proofs are here.

#2: I just found out that I was chosen for another scholarship! I am ecstatic. Beyond ecstatic. I can't even say how grateful I am! It came at a much needed time...alleviated some of my worries about getting married, and motivated me to try more in school.

So, I am in a very grateful mood today and just wanted to share that. Hope all is well :)

The Happy Couple

Okay, as promised here is a pic of Tyler and Carissa on their wedding day! So cute.

WOW.

Brax loves whipped cream!  At the wedding dinner.

Jenna and Lauren looking hot.

All scrubbed in for surgery!  I am the middle one who looks Asian.  And no, we are not praying--just staying sterile!  Such pros.  (Dantzel and Lindsey are with me!)
Yes, I am putting an IV in Dantzel!  She doesn't look scared at all...
Jace, the stud.
My Nana with Ashlyn, all dressed up for the wedding.
Andrew and I at the temple after Tyler and Carissa's sealing!

The title simply describes the fact that A LOT has been going on in my life lately!  Hence, I have not blogged in a while.  I'm bad.  So to make up for it, here are some pics of the recent happenings.

Just a quick recap...My brother, Tyler, married Carissa Ashby on Aug. 29th.  The sealing and reception were beautiful and everything went great!  She is such a cute girl and perfect for Tyler.  My Nana and Papa also came to visit for a couple of weeks for the wedding, etc., and it was fun to see and talk with them, as well as other relatives that came up.  (P.S.  I don't have any pics of the bride and groom--my camera died!  But I'll put the pro ones up when they're here.)

Andrew and I have moved into our new house--well, he has at least, until we are married!--and it's looking fabulous.  So cute.  It's older but just as charming as can be.  I can't wait til I can move in too!  (I apologize...no pics yet--I'll get them up this weekend!)

School is also back in session, meaning my stress level has increased a few notches.  I hate the beginning of the semester--we go over ALL the assignments, projects, etc. for the whole semester and I inevitably feel completely overwhelmed.  And, this year is not an exception!   We've done some fun stuff in lab already--scrubbing in for surgeries, starting IV's.   And today I toured the real hospital where I will take care of real patients this year, and finally feel like a real nurse!  So, even though I'm wigging out with all I have to do, I am quite excited for the experiences I'll have.

Well, that's my life in a nutshell.   Hope everyone is well :)
