I said YES!

So, I thought today was just going to be another Memorial Day holiday. My wonderful boyfriend wanted to go up to Park City to ride the alpine slide and get some dinner. No big deal right? Oh, was I ever wrong!

Little did I know, he was planning to PROPOSE! We got there and walked around for a bit (unfortunately it was raining and freezing...but still fun!) Then we rode this coaster that they have at the Park City resort, since the alpine slide was closed. Andrew said he wanted to take some pictures with his nice new camera that he got for his birthday.

So we drove up into the mountains a bit where it was SNOWING (is it really almost June?) to find some nice scenery worthy of Andrew's camera. We found this little stream and he said it would suffice--at this point it was still raining pretty hard, so I told him I would stay in the car while he got his shots. But, he said I had to hold the umbrella over him and the camera. So, I grudgingly got out of the car and held it for him.

He took a few pics and said he needed a lens change. He asked me to get the lens out of his camera bag, but when I reached in I found something smaller--a ring box! I pulled it out with a dumbfounded expression on my face, after which he gave a sneaky smile, got down on one knee, and popped the big one. I of course said YES! I love him SO much and am so excited to become Mrs. Garlock :) AND, to top it all off, we got sushi after...my favorite food. Pretty much it was perfect. So here are a few pics from the wonderful day:

My reaction: a little excited, to say the least!

The ROCK! Hello.
I was quite impressed. Actually, I LOVE IT! It's perfect.
But, more importantly, he's perfect! :)

Celebrations as of late...

So lately a lot of significant events have happened and I haven't gotten around to honoring them. So that's what this is! First, Happy VERY late Birthday to my bro-in-law, Tim. He's a great guy, handyman, and loving husband and dad!

Next, my little sister Jenna went to her Junior Prom. I helped her get ready, did her hair and makeup, etc. It was SO fun! I love doing that stuff. And not to brag, but she looked HOT! She had an actual promenade that we went and watched and I definitely thought she was one of the prettiest girls there.

Also, it was just barely Jenna's 17th birthday. I seriously cannot believe how old we are all getting! She is one of my best friends and favorite people. So, Happy Birthday!

A week or so ago we also had a baby shower for my older sister, Kristin. She's due to have her first baby girl (Kate?) any day now! I am SO excited to have a little niece. She would kill me if I put a pic of her this pregnant up, so here we are at the shower at least :)

And last, here are a couple pics from the tulip festival I forgot to put up and liked! All in all, life is going great.
We ALL happened to wear Vans that day!

Aren't we darling? ha!

I <3 David Archuleta

Okay, I'm normally not a huge American Idol fan, but I got roped into the end of this season. Mostly because I think David Archuleta is the cutest thing ever. This week he sang a Billy Joel song that I LOVE, And So It Goes. I seriously almost cried! Okay, so I get a little more excited than most, but it was amazing. Enjoy :)

Go Jazz!

Why do I want the Jazz to beat the Lakers in the playoffs? Two reasons.

1. My man is a Lakers fan. A little friendly rivalry is good once in a while!
2. My mini crush on the 3-point guru, Kyle Korver.

Right now it's 3-2, Lakers. Next game in Utah. Lakers are the favorite for the series, but I'm hoping for an upset! The Jazz have given them a run for their money, so we'll see how it goes.

Birthday Boy

Just wanted to write a quick note and publicly say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my favorite person in the world. Isn't he darling? Andrew turned 23 yesterday actually -- but of course, I was so busy making his birthday fantastic that I didn't have time to blog! ha. But really, he's such a kind, caring person and has made good use of those 23 years so far and I'm sure it will continue!

Recently

Well, just thought I would write a quick note about the highlights of my week! It's amazing how monotonous life can become when one is working and not in school. NOT that I am complaining--I love coming home after work and being obligation free! I am liking my job and raking in the big bucks, so that is good. I got a haircut on Monday, which is always exciting. I love head massages...so basically the cut and color are just a bonus! I didn't do anything too drastic, but I did cut more bangs, which I like. I was going for a Heidi look (I gave her the picture below as a guide), but I think it would take much more than I haircut to take care of that! PS - Ignore the Britney picture. DEF don't want to look like that.

Also, Happy Birthday to my nephew, Braxton. He turned 2 on May 2nd and is possibly the cutest little boy ever. He was so funny, wishing himself happy birthday all day, and wanting to go to Carl's Jr. for his birthday dinner. Classy! His dad got him a Trampoline as his present--more for him than Braxton I think :)

And last, I finished a fabulous book. Now that I am out of school I am just eating them up. the one I read is called The Kite Runner--about a boy who grows up in Afghanistan, moves when the Russians come in, and has to return to the crumbling country to repair a shady past. It's written by Khaled Hosseini and is fascinating. I actually cried once--nerdy, I know, but it is really good! So, I definitely recommend it. And, if you're like Andrew, you will want to watch the movie - which we did on Saturday, and it was also very, very good. Sticks to the story line quite accurately. So, check it out!
